Great day working on Nevin Park.
I added a Par 4 for the FPO division for the DGPT Championships. This new hole offers a challenging tee shot to a pretty fairway.

Jeff Spring and I talked at length how to create a fair and challenging option to last years DGPT #16 for the Women’s Division. We had a basket in the fairway of the Men’s 424ft par 4, uphill @ 270ft. We liked the visual of this hole. The tight fairway is lined by an almost perfectly straight set of trees. It made for great visuals on camera.
The challenge is that for practice the FPO basket was in the way and during tournament days it had to be removed between FPO and MPO rounds. Also a priority is spectator viewing and the roping for general admission areas had to be reduced for the FPO green. Now we have a single basket, more challenge coming down the stretch and more viewing opportunities. The teepad is close to an elevated park road. A huge gallery can gather there and watch the FPO drives.

All the cut and trimmed trees were woodchipped back into the fairway and I mowed around the tee for a nice clear gathering area. It is always important to finish off your tee with retaining walls and level runups and follow throughs.
