Bring The Whole Neighborhood Together For Charlotte’s Hottest Sport.

If you want to add an attraction to your neighborhood that will provide fun for current residents, attract new buyers, and increase property values in the process, consider this: disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in America, and Charlotte is the biggest, hottest destination.

Add A Premiere Disc Golf Course That Will Put Your Neighborhood On The Map.

You can get ahead of the trend with a premiere course that everyone in the neighborhood will enjoy and everyone else will want to visit.

You can add a disc golf course for less than you think. It can work around your existing green spaces, unused wooded areas, or community buildings.  While a perfect compliment to a pool club or tennis and pickleball courts, it’s also a cheaper, less disruptive way to get your community features started. But you need to do it right.

Many disc golf courses go unused because they are set up haphazardly. You would never consider building a golf course by putting the greens in random front yards, so you can’t just stick a few baskets in any open space and expect to get a real course.

Want a feature that will build community ties and set you apart in a competitive market?

To get something people will be excited to play for years to come, you need to know the game and design the course to meet the needs of your space and your players.

Charlotte’s disc golf community is known around the country, and people come from all over to play our courses, many of which I’ve designed. With a great course, you can add your neighborhood to the map of Charlotte’s best courses, provide fun for your residents, and grow your community into a popular destination.

The Making of a Great Course

Artboard 3

Step 1: Listen

It’s your course, so shouldn’t it be exactly what you want? Whether that’s a championship-level course, a course for elementary school kids, or something the general public can enjoy, the most important thing is to discover what works best for your players, your property, and your budget. The first step we take is to work together on what the perfect course means for you and what the options are for getting there.

Step 2: Design

Once the goal is set, the next step is to visit your property to survey the land, looking for opportunities and obstacles. Using survey and satellite data, I draw a design for the course with tee boxes, baskets, retaining walls, bridges, landscaping, and any other work that needs to be done. You receive a detailed report along with estimates of the costs for each component. You’ll get to see exactly how the course will look on your map and what it will take to make it a reality.

Step 3: Build

The design document gives you everything you need to build the course, just like an architect’s plans for a house. If you have the staff or a contractor who can do the work, I’ll remain available for consultation. If you need someone to build it for you, I can help you with that piece, too. Whatever you need, I’m not satisfied until you are playing on your new favorite course.

Take It From A Park Superintendent

Five Stars Review Copy image

“Mark has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in Disc Golf Course design/redesign. Often Mark and his team are required to redesign part of or sometimes an entire course here in Mecklenburg County due to the growth of our system and imminent capital expansion. I have been consistently impressed by his professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.”

Mark Huether

Player, Coach, Designer, Builder

Mark Huether loves disc golf. He wants everyone to learn and love this amazing sport just as much, which is why he dedicates most of his time (when he’s not playing) to maintaining the courses around Charlotte, organizing professional and amateur events, coaching college athletes (and his two sons), and building courses around the country.

He’s a former PDGA Amateur World Champion and the designer of multiple PDGA Pro and Amateur Championship courses, and he’s played on over 400 courses in 49 states, so he knows what makes a great course. As a trained engineer and experienced builder, he has the skills to turn the plans into a reality. Nothing gets him excited like bringing his passion to new players and new places.
