Building Communities Through Better Disc Golf
Disc golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and Charlotte, NC is one of the hottest destinations. Now’s the perfect time to take advantage of the boom to bring attention and visitors to your park, value to your neighborhood, buzz and excitement to your school, or family fun to your property.
Disc golf course design from the creator of Charlotte’s top courses
Disc golf is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and Charlotte, NC is one of the hottest destinations. Now’s the perfect time to take advantage of the boom to bring attention and visitors to your park, value to your neighborhood, buzz and excitement to your school, or family fun to your property.
But can’t anyone just put out a few tee markers and baskets and have fun? Sure, and you can also set up 18 holes of golf in an old cow pasture, but no one is going to play it. If you want to get the most out of your investment, you need a course that people will love and come back to.

Looking to add a new attraction to your park or property?
Don’t do it yourself. Let me help you design a course that everyone can enjoy again and again. For years, I’ve designed and maintained some of the top courses in Charlotte, including courses that hosted multiple Pro and Amateur World Championships, helping to grow the Charlotte disc golf community into a world-class host.
Now I’m making that expertise available to everyone so that no matter where you are, you and your community can come together through the best disc golf possible.

Take It From A Park Superintendent

“Mark has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in Disc Golf Course design/redesign. Often Mark and his team are required to redesign part of or sometimes an entire course here in Mecklenburg County due to the growth of our system and imminent capital expansion. I have been consistently impressed by his professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.”

The Making of a Great Course
Step 1: Listen
It’s your course, so shouldn’t it be exactly what you want? Whether that’s a championship-level course, a course for elementary school kids, or something the general public can enjoy, the most important thing is to discover what works best for your players, your property, and your budget. The first step we take is to work together on what the perfect course means for you and what the options are for getting there.
Step 2: Design
Once the goal is set, the next step is to visit your property to survey the land, looking for opportunities and obstacles. Using survey and satellite data, I draw a design for the course with tee boxes, baskets, retaining walls, bridges, landscaping, and any other work that needs to be done. You receive a detailed report along with estimates of the costs for each component. You’ll get to see exactly how the course will look on your map and what it will take to make it a reality.
Step 3: Build
The design document gives you everything you need to build the course, just like an architect’s plans for a house. If you have the staff or a contractor who can do the work, I’ll remain available for consultation. If you need someone to build it for you, I can help you with that piece, too. Whatever you need, I’m not satisfied until you are playing on your new favorite course.
